The dense fog of early morning made the otherwise difficult drive even more treacherous along the single-lane Ridge Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park. At 12,000 feet, the hushed atmosphere served to accentuate the beauty of the ridge, with each bend of the road revealing a fresh panorama softened by the mist. A few wild flowers struggled to thrive in the difficult ecosystem.

A Signature Member of several watercolor societies including AWS, NWS and TWSA, her work is regularly included in international competitions, including the prestigious "Birds in Art" exhibition at the Woodson Art Museum, and "FabrianoInAcquarello" in Bologna, Italy. Delight in nature was instilled in Kris in her childhood, spent at the edge of a lake in northern Wisconsin.
