About Kris Parins
A Signature Member of AWS, NWS, TWSA and other watercolor societies, my paintings have been featured on the covers of American Artist Watercolor and Watercolor Artist magazines, and in several editions of "Splash, the Best of Watercolor". My work is regularly included in the "Birds in Art" exhibition at the Woodson Art Museum and other international exhibitions.
Art and design have always been important to me. After earning a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Related Art, I studied graphic design. I worked as an art director and account executive, and occasionally created watercolor illustrations for clients' product graphics.
Since 1998, I have directed my creative energy toward fine art in watercolor. The transparency and vibrancy, combined with an element of surprise, continue to keep me interested in this challenging medium. My computer and camera are integral to my creative process. Frequent travels provide fresh input and help to develop my way of seeing.
I maintain studios in Northern Wisconsin and Sarasota, Florida.
